BSC 6120 - Foundational Nutrition

A comprehensive survey of the role of macronutrients and micronutrients in metabolism and physiology. Define and analyze how a balanced intake of carbohydrates, lipids, protein, electrolytes, minerals, lipid soluble vitamins, water soluble vitamins, and phytonutrients promote healthy weight maintenance and decrease the risk for chronic disease. Student-centered learning activities promote evidence-informed development of connections between balanced nutrition and evaluation of the risk for chronic disease.
